October 20, 2007

I was busy for 2 days now, preparing sweets for my family celebration; We have a new Baby boy (my younger sister's), he's very cute, has a grown up boy face, only 8 days old now.. :-)
"Don't buy any cakes or cookies..I'll make all the sweets by myself.." ; Yes it was me, talking with my sister, early this week. There were more then 20 guests, yesterday
,so I plan to prepare enough sweets.Baking for hours in my small kitchen, didn't leave me extra time for taking new photos, sorry,But all the sweets were 'old and favorites' , except this new to me- Triple chocolate cheesecake, which is a nice unbaked pretty cake. There was a big table full with cakes, here is the list, more or less :
* Cookies : World peace cookies, Coconut Cookies, Tahini Cookies הוכנו:עוגיות שוקולד, קוקוס וטחינה-אלו המתכונים
* Cakes : Crumble Cheesecake, My grandmom's nut cake, Triple Chocolate cake, Chocolate cake with white chocolate filling, and this Triple chocolate cheesecake. In the middle,I put the New Bread, which I've made for the World Bread day 2007: The Harvest Festival Sheaf Bread , it was like a table decoration ,and everybody loved watching this Bread(even someone.. took a small piece out of that Bread and eat it ..!? ) I'll be here later, after a short rest, thanks for visiting ! :-) הוכנו עוגות שוקולד, מוס, אגוזים וקרם-הכל היה מוצלח וטעיםTriple chocolate cheesecake/Taste.com.au עוגת שוקולד גבינה משולשת
200g plain chocolate biscuits
80g butter, melted

1/3 cup cold tap water
5 teaspoons gelatine
500g cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 cup milk
150g white chocolate, melted
150g dark chocolate, melted
1 1/2 cups thickened cream, whipped
100g milk chocolate, grated
cocoa powder, to serve
MethodGrease and line a 24cm (base) springform pan. Process biscuits in a food processor to fine crumbs. Transfer to a bowl. Add melted butter. Stir until well combined. Use your fingertips to press into base of prepared pan. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until firm.
Place water into a heatproof microwavesafe bowl. Sprinkle over gelatine. Stand for 1 minute. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) power for 20 to 40 seconds or until gelatine dissolves. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar and milk until smooth. Stir in gelatine. Divide cream cheese mixture between 2 bowls.
Stir white chocolate into 1 cream cheese mixture. Stir dark chocolate into other.
Fold half the cream through white chocolate mixture and half through dark chocolate mixture.
Pour dark chocolate mixture over biscuit base. Freeze for 10 minutes or until firm to the touch. Carefully spread white chocolate mixture over dark. Cover. Refrigerate overnight.
Release sides of pan. Place cheesecake onto a serving platter. Sprinkle with grated milk chocolate. Dust with cocoa. Cut into slices with a warm knife. Serve

* Coquinaria is an Italian Food site and a great source for Italian recipes, techniques, conversion, wines, forum,a newsletter, archive .. and much more .A few days ago,I've found the PDF recipe files on that site, in the ricette =recipes column, how nice ! ; Even my Italian language is very very poor,I hope I could try some new Bread recipes or a new pastry/ sweets from that site.Take a look, here are the Recipes (about 1MG+- each PDF File ,like booklets, some are with pictures too,I love them )

There are So many new Breads there ..(in 3 Files) and much more..I hope your Italian is much better then mine .. :-) אתר בישול איטלקי -מצויין

* "Via culinaria"- it's Sachi Chatsubi's (Israel) new Blog.On left is one of his collage pictures, taken from his Blog.

In his new Blog Sachi writes about Traveling and Food, (in Hebrew), last posts are about his visit to Sicily .
I realy don't miss any post of him.[ also his writing in Ort -Israeli Food Forum]. He knows how to cook, how to write ,he's a talented photographer and much more..; He writes in his a special way,his sense of humor - makes me smile everytime again..
I love his Food & wine & restaurants recommendation .I want to thank him for all that ! :-) תודה לש_ח מפורום האוכל של אורט על השיתוף המקסים בבלוג החדש שלו

* I've asked Ran how did he make those golden brown eggs, which were very tasty, just few days ago..
No need for any heavy casserole, or long time baking/cooking; No need for additional onions or Tea bags..
- Boil few eggs in water for 10-15 minutes
- Bake the unpeeled eggs in your oven (Ran baked them in the small oven) for 40-45 minutes , at 90C.
- Peel and serve the eggs. I think they are better then the plain-white hard boiled eggs, even I like eggs with anything and in any way of cooking..

Congratulations to your sister and to all the family!

I'm sooo curious about those kind of fast "huevos haminados"... In the last photo, is that the peeled baked egg?

If you need help with an italian translation just drop me a line, and i´ll do what I can. :)

Saludos,
Marcela
