Rosemary Bread Trios
This recipe is taken from this book:
Ready to bake... easy to make !Rosemary, flour,yeast, sugar, salt..Rosemary Bread Trios /Makes 10 trios
7 gr(1/4 oz)dried yeast (I use 2 ts)
1 ts sugar
4 cups (=500 gr) plain flour
1 Tb sugar,extra
1 ts salt
1 cup (=250 ml) warm milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil(=60 ml-2 oz) (I use canola oil)
10 smal springs or rosemary ---
1 egg yolk
sea salt ,to spinkle
H O W
1 Combine the yeast,sugar,and 1/2 cup(=125 ml) of warm water,in a small bowl.
cover and set aside in a warm place for 10 minutes,or until frothy.
2 Sift the flour into a large bowl and stir in the extra sugar and salt.
Make a well in the center and pour in the warm milk,oil and frothy yeast.
mix to a soft dough,gather into a ball,them turn out onto a lightly floured surface and fnead for 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. (add a little extra flour if the douge becomes too sticky)
place in a large,oiled bowel,cover,and leave in a warm place for 1 hour,or until doubled in size.
3 punch down the dough,turn out onto a lightly floured surface an knead for 1 minute.
prepare 2 large baking trays.
divide the dough into 10 pieces.
Form each piece into 3 balls-keeping the remainingpieces covered-and place close together on the baking tray; add a spring of rosemary onto the centerof each trio.repeat with the remanining pieces of diugh,an lay each set separatly on the baking tray
4 Cover the trios,and set aside ror 20 min. or until well risen.
Preheat the oven to moderate=180C (350F)
Brush the trios lightly with the combined egg yolk and 1 ts of water,and sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake for 15-20 minutes,until golden brown.
cool on a wire rack.

Your rosemary trios are wonderful!
They look so yummie and I love rosemary. As the winter here in Germany is - until now - not so cold - may rosemary on my balcony has survived - in the last few years I lost the rosemary regularly in january.

I love rosemary too , but I can't grow it here in my window garden,even in summer- I realy don't know why ;)
