
N' from the place I used to work for few years, gave me this recipes months ago, it was a Copy from some Israeli cookbook , I don't know which one; she told me .."you should try this Tart - it's very tasty, but" ..she said.. "bake it in a small baking dish.. not in a large one like my mom did.." - it's not a diet dish.. yes I know, but it's realy good for the weekend , for a holiday or for a family gathering, like we did today..
This tart is realy easy to bake, full with nice colores...can be eaten warm or cold, and.. don't forget the Nigella !
Tomato - Sour Cream Tart טארט עגבניות, שמנת ועשבי תיבול
26cm round tart dish
For the dough:
100 gr Parmesan cheese
1 TB fresh thyme (I didn't add)
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 ts salt
125 gr butter, cut into small pieces
1 egg
1 TB cold water
1 TB Nigella
For the filling:
16 very small Tomatoes (I used:8 small+ 3-4 larger tomatoes)
100 gr Bulgarian cheese
200 gr sour cream
3 eggs
1 TB parsley
1 TB chives (I didn't add it)
1 TB thyme (I didn't add it)Nigella for topping the tart
Making the dough:
Grate the Parmesan cheese and the fresh thyme ;set half of these crumbs aside .To the other half add:flour, salt and butter, mix until you get small crumbs; add 1 egg and water(1 TB+ -) and mix until you get a smooth dough. Add Nigella and mix well until you get a ball.
Flatten the dough and roll it to a round about 35cm. Put the rolled dough carefully into the prepared dish, prick it all over and chill for 30 minutes.
Bake the dough for 15-20 minutes (or until golden) at 190C.
Now reduce the heat to 180C

Making the filling:
Half the tomatoes lengthwise .

Beat the Bulgarian cheese cheese,sour cream and eggs; add half of the leftover Parmesan cheese mixture and the , seasoning herbs. Pour over the baked dough.Arrange over the cut tomatoes, cut side up. araange over the left parmeasan and nigella. Bake for 45 minutes , or until set and golden.
