Garlic Bread



Garlic Bread /"Just Good Food" /by Itamar Davidov

Make 2 large loafs

7 cups AP flour
1 TB salt
A few sage or majorana/Za'atar(not Za'atar mixture)stalks or leafs
5 Garlic Cloves Crushed
2 TB dry yeast (or 60 gr fresh yeast)
2 1/2 cups warm water

1. Mix flour,salt, garlic and the sage or za'atar. dissolve the yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
2. Make a hole in the flour mixture , add the dissolved yeasts and mix ; add 2 more cups of warm water, slowly and mix to a soft dough, knead for few minutes, add flour or water as needed.
3.Let the dough rise slowly in a oiled bowl (with olive oil) for 1 1/2 - 2 hours, until doubled in size .
4. Knead the dough, divide in 2, make 2 round loafs.let them rest and rise on a large baking dish for an hour or more.
5.Preheat the oven to 250C and bake the loafs in the hot oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 170C and bake for 25 minutes or until the breads are brown and crispy outside.. do you like this Bread as we do ?..
[This Bread recipe is realy very easy to make, and as I like : has no extra fat or eggs ]

Coconut Flapjacks 
200 gr butter200 gr demerara sugar
2 TB honey (or golden syrup)
275 gr (=3 1/2 cups) oats (not for cooking) 100 gr (=1 cup)shredded coconut 75 gr (=1/3 cup) dried cranberries or candied cherries
12 x 9 in baking tray (=30X23)

1. Preheat the oven to 325F (170C)
2. Heat the butter,sugar and the honey in a large saucepan, until just melted.
3.Stir in the oats, coconut and cranberries, mix until evently combined
4.Spread the mixture on the tray and press down to make a smooth surface. 5 .Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes. 6.Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes.7. I love all things that resemble "granola bars" and your coconut flapjacks seem to fit the bill. I can't wait for the full recipe. :)!
